The research team at Bresslergroup works to provide insights to our design and engineering teams, as well as directly to our clients, to ensure that all their research, design, and development efforts remain firmly grounded in user needs.
Your Purpose
As a Senior Quantitative Researcher at Bresslergroup, you will be based in our fabulous office in Center City, Philadelphia. You will illuminate insights about humans and their motivations behind product usage through quantitative research that you design, execute, and analyze. You will guide your colleagues and our clients to select the appropriate methods to best understand end users. You are comfortable with a wide range of quantitative methods and can confidently recommend appropriate sample sizes and data collection tools. You are excited about the opportunity to help the Bresslergroup User Research team continue to grow and expand our quantitative research capabilities.
In your experience with quantitative research, you have translated quantitative research findings into actionable results for marketing, design, and engineering teams. You are comfortable leading research activities across small-scale and large-scale projects and you have ideally conducted quantitative research on a wide range of consumer, commercial, and medical products.
Key Responsibilities
More About You
You have a Master’s degree in design research, statistics, anthropology, sociology, market research, or another research-heavy discipline. You have at least 3 years of hands-on, professional applied quantitative research experience. You have a track record of delivering well-designed quantitative research, related to physical products, leading to compelling insights. Ideally, you have worked in a consulting environment for at least 1 year and are familiar with how they operate.
You are clever
You have a true passion for quantitative research and a strong-interest in human-centered product design, as evidenced by your career and education choices. You have experience with survey design & analysis and quantitative research methods. You also have strong skills in behavioral data analysis, experimental and survey research, and statistics.
You can also present your recommendations to any type of audience, whether they are data-driven clients or an internal project team with limited knowledge of statistical analysis. You demonstrate high standards of workmanship and attention to detail and can help improve department processes and best practices.
You are curious
You like to explore new territories and learn from others. You have a deep understanding of quantitative research methods, processes, and tools, and you are ready to take the initiative to improve them at Bresslergroup. You’re also comfortable with global travel (role may include up to 20% travel either on your own or as part of a team).
You are confident
You are comfortable with ambiguity and complexity, because you know that sometimes that leads to the most unique, unexpected design solutions. You possess a strong work ethic and are willing to “do what it takes” to get the job done.
You have excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills – all needed for research, facilitation, interviews, and client presentations. Your writing is concise, grammatically correct, and has the appropriate tone. You possess strong empathy and verbal communication skills that allow to you communicate with anyone. You are ready to think critically about what it takes do your job best, help identify the key activities that need to get done, and then take on leading the charge to complete them!
